Packaging is everywhere: on the shelves of the supermarkets; at home; surrounding household chemicals; on the side of our transportation vehicles; covering our gifts and cosmetics, and covering almost every product that we use. In today’s modern society, it’s impossible to avoid packaging.

As much as packaging is a natural part of our everyday life, the concerns of today’s environmental challenges also hang over our heads. Reducing waste and our ecological footprint, while increasing overall product sustainability, should be top priority.

The recent trends of the packaging industry reflect the need for environmental protection. Although plastic is the ocean and marine animals’ biggest enemy, it’s still an extremely popular material, thanks to its flexibility and relatively cheap production. Whilst there are revolutionary new packaging solutions everyday, we shouldn’t forget that plastic and other harmful waste does not make its way to the planet’s seas and oceans by itself: human intervention plays a large part.

Today, one of the biggest sensations is the recently released edible six-pack rings, a brand-new approach to sustainable beer packaging. These biodegradable rings are made from barley and wheat ribbons from the beer brewing process, and thanks to this, they can be 100% safely eaten by wildlife. Currently, these revolutionary, edible six-pack rings are not readily available, but if you’re look for something new, you can find packaging materials within our range that have no ecological footprint at all. Most of the plastic packaging products available are both reusable and recyclable.

Whilst we acknowledge that in the immediate future, unfortunately, most packaging cannot be replaced with the same technology as the edible six-pack rings, as an environmentally conscious company we happily accept and support these kinds of inventions. The recycling process uses up to two thirds less energy than traditional manufacturing, significantly reducing the strain on the traditional power grid, which is based on the burning of fossil fuels.

QDP gives companies a profitable alternative (helping you to find potential buyers) to the unnecessary waste of the planet’s resources. Sellers with surplus packaging can earn profit for any unnecessary items and buyers can get high quality products below the original market price, ultimately saving the environment from unnecessary waste.
